Friday Five : Ways To Style A Knit Dress

Friday Five : Ways To Style A Knit Dress

One dress styled five different ways! Items that can be worn multiple times in multiple different looks are always my favorite. According to the groundhog we still have 6 weeks of winter, so I wanted to share with you some ideas on how to style just a basic knit sweater dress to get you through these last few colder weeks. I hope you enjoy and get some ideas!

For The Office

For a work ready look, I layered on a long blazer with pointed heels to match. To accessorize I chose a set of chokers just to add a little "flare" to this business-ready look.

To get a look that's a little edgier, I decided to wear it as a long shirt by layering it over a pair of faux leather pants. To accessorize I added a bandana around my neck as a choker, and round Marc Jacobs sunnies. To keep it more casual I stuck with flats and chose a super pointed mule to add some trendiness as well.

This is definitely a more glamorous version, and perfect for a date night or night out with friends. Since the dress is so simple, I knew I wanted to add a fun shoe or necklace, and as you can see I ended up going with both! Fun accessories are always a must when wanting to wear a basic a new way. A bold lip never hurts either!

Like I said in the previous look, a fun shoe and accessory is always the way to go with such a basic piece. This time instead of adding more dressy pieces, I chose more casual with a wide brimmed hat. Feeling inspired by the blue color of the hat, I was instantly drawn to these edgier ballet flats which have blue detailing to them as well. Common coloring brings together unexpected pairs perfectly, which is exactly what I did with this more boho hat and these more edgy flats. This look is perfect for lunch with friends, or just a day out enjoying nice weather!

The athleisure trend is huge right now (thank God!). When I think athleisure I think baseball cap and tennis shoes first, so to make this sweater dress into an athleisure look I added a faux leather hat along with faux leather slip-on vans. feeling inspired by the faux leather details I had going on, I knew my Zara backpack would be the perfect accessory. Not only because of the material but because a backpack is always a great accessory for a more casual look. To add something a little more to this look I completed it with an oversized denim jacket, and was ready to explore the city with my husband!

Happy Friday!
